2022 Audi RS3 revealed for Europe

A speed of 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 290 kmph set the 2022 Audi RS3 apart from the rest of the lot. Revealed for the European market, the 2022 Audi RS3 is a high-performance version of the Audi A3, and comes loaded with everything the RS badge has to offer. The new RS3 now gets a new torque splitter, a first for Audi, which ensures that the right amount of torque is optimally distributed along the rear axle and also enables controlled drift. Additionally, the Audi RS3 also features newly developed six-piston steel brakes along with newly developed shock absorbers for a better ride.

Upfront, the 2022 Audi RS3 gets a redesigned single frame with wide RS bumpers, and its distinctive honeycomb grille.

The design of the new Audi RS3 is more dynamic and powerful than its predecessor. Up front, the widened RS bumpers, redesigned single frame with its distinctive honeycomb grille, and large air intakes give the compact sports car an expressive look. The RS3 comes equipped with LED taillights including flat, wedge-shaped LED headlights and dynamic turn signal lights. There is also a new design element behind the front wheel arch. The rocker panels with black trim have also been redesigned and in combination with flared wheel arches, contribute to the new RS3's expressive look. The front axle track has been widened by 33 mm compared to the previous model. The RS3 is standard-equipped with 19-inch cast wheels in a 10-y spoke design. Audi will also be installing the Pirelli P Zero "Trofeo R" performance semi-sleek tyres for the first time. Finishing touches inspired by motorsports include a redesigned RS-specific rear bumper with integrated diffuser and an RS exhaust system with two large oval tailpipes.

In addition, the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus includes G-force, lap time and displays for 0100 kmph, 0-200 kmph, quarter mile and eighth of a mile. In manual transmission mode the RS-specific blinking shift indicator changes the RPM display from green to yellow to red to indicate the ideal time to change gears. The 10.1-inch touch display features what's known as the "RS Monitor," which displays coolant, engine and transmission oil temperatures as well as tire pressure. A heads-up display is also available for the first time for the Audi RS3. Seat upholstery is optionally available in Nappa Leather Seating Surface with RS Honeycomb Stitching and Glossy Black, Red or Green Contrast Stitching for the first time. The design package includes colored accents on the seat corners and air vents in red or green. The RS3 is standard-equipped with a threespoke RS Sport multifunctional leather-wrapped steering wheel with a flattened bottom.

Power in the 2022 Audi RS3 comes from a 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder TFSI petrol engine that develops 400 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Top track speed is limited to 250 kmph but 280 kmph is also available as an optional upgrade. With the RS Dynamic Package and ceramic brakes, they can reach a top track speed of 290 kmph.
